Dwayne Johnson to star in Hercules
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is set to star in 'Hercules'.
The 'Tooth Fairy' star is in talks to take on the titular role in the Brett Ratner-directed film, which will be based on Steve Moore and Cris Bolsin's miniseries 'Hercules: The Thracian Wars'.
The film tells the story of Greek hero Hercules who has turned his back on the Olympian gods and can only find solace fighting in battle alongside his six companions.
The Thracian king then summons Hercules and his pals and tasks them with getting his army into proper fighting shape. Lured by the thought of gold and glory, he readily agrees, but soon comes to realise how far he's fallen from grace and what he might need to do to find some redemption.
Johnson will next be seen in 'GI Joe 2: Retaliation' and is start filming Michael Bay's 'Pain and Gain'.
Last year he also signed up for 'Monster Hunter's Survival Guide'.
The wrestler was the first actor to be confirmed for the movie, which is based on John Paul Russ' comic book miniseries on hunting monsters, the undead and unnatural beasts.
