An awkwardly touching teen romance based on the book by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist released on DVD February 3rd from Sony Pictures. The much acclaimed film follows the development of an intriguing relationship between Nick (Michael Cera), a member of a gay band, the Jerkoffs, and Norah (Kat Dennings), an insecure daughter of a well-known music executive.
The two meet at a club performance by Nick’s band. Norah approaches Nick and asks him to pretend to before her boyfriend to pacify her superficial friend Tris (Alexis Dziena), who has been talking trash. For weeks, Tris has been telling Norah about the desperate attempts of her ex-boyfriend to woo her back with musical mixes. What Norah does not realize is that Nick is the ex-boyfriend. AWKWARD!
After getting past the initial weirdness, Nick and Norah begin to hangout a bit. Nick’s band friends see the chemistry between the two and tell Norah to befriend Nick in order to take his mind off his failed romance with Tris. Nick and Norah venture about the city with his friends in search of Norah’s drunk girlfriend who is lost. Jealous, Tris follows along and waits for a chance to get back in the middle of things with Nick. Also in the middle of things is Norah’s 3-year boyfriend, “Tall”, who is more interested in getting his album demo to Norah’s dad than he is in Norah herself.
