Oblivion for Melissa Leo

Melissa Leo is set to star in sci-fi movie 'Oblivion'.

The Oscar-winning actress will star alongside Tom Cruise in the Joseph Kosinski-directed film, which tells the tale of a future earth where the population have to live above the planet after aliens take over the land.

To destroy alien drones, Tom's character must return to earth and on one such trip he meets a mysterious woman who makes him question his life.

Olga Kurylenko is set to play his lover, while the woman on the ground will be portrayed by 'W.E.' beauty Andrea Riseborough.

Morgan Freeman and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau will also star in the movie.

Melissa's role is not yet known.

The movie is set to be released in April 29, 2013, and will be produced by Peter Chernin, Dylan Clark, Barry Levine and Kosinski.

Since picking up an Academy Award for her performance as Alice Ward in 'The Fighter', Melissa's career has seen her taking on a number of roles, with 'Flight', 'Prairie Bones' and 'Something in the Water' all due for release this year.
