During the weekend of April 25, "The Other Woman" topped the box office with earnings of $24,700,000. After Carly learns that her boyfriend has a wife behind the scenes, she forms a friendship with the other woman. It doesn't take long for them to discover a third woman in the mix. Together, they wreak havoc on the man who broke their hearts. "The Other Woman" has a PG-13 rating for thematic material, mature references and language.

"Brick Mansions" saw $9,600,000 in profits during its debut weekend. Paul Walker stars in the crime thriller, which takes place in a futuristic Detroit. The city's most ruthless criminals and the rest of the society keep a distance from one another, separated by a containing wall. One cop is brave enough to breach the wall. The film's PG-13 rating is due to violence and action, language, gun play, drug material and menace.

"The Quiet Ones" earned $4 million. During the 1970s, an eccentric, cynical professor and his young assistants carry out a series of experiments that could change the way the world views paranormal activity. Instead, the professor ends up sucked deeper and deeper into a world of unexplainable terror and darkness. The horror movie's PG-13 rating is due to thematic material, language, smoking, mature content and intense violence and terror.

Continuing Films

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" continued to maintain a strong box office presence, bringing profits to more than $224 million. With Nick Fury targeted by an ominous enemy, it falls on Captain America to protect classified information, preventing it from falling into the wrong hands. Working with Black Widow, the superhero must uncover big secrets and take huge risks, all to keep the world safe. The action film earned $16,048,000 over the weekend. The PG-13 rating is due to intense sequences of action, violence and gun play.

"Heaven is for Real" saw profits of $13,800,000. Since its debut, the film has earned more than $51 million. After a medical emergency, young Colton Burpo comes back as a changed boy. He has seen heaven, and the inspiring messages he has to share with the world will rock his Nebraska community. His father, Todd, must make a leap of faith to support his son. The PG rating is due to thematic material that includes medical situations.

"Rio 2" has seen more than $96 million in profits so far, including the $13,650,000 earned during the weekend of April 25. When their human owners head to the Amazon to discover rare macaws, Blu and Jewel take their three chicks along. During their journey, Blu and Jewel will run into some faces from the past, meet fun new friends and even reignite a few old feuds. "Rio 2" has a G rating.

"Transcendence" earned $4,105,000 in weekend profits, bringing total box office profits to more than $18 million. Dr. Will Caster has dedicated his life to researching artificial intelligence, hoping to make breakthroughs that will change the way humans and computers interact. After a near-fatal attack, however, Dr. Caster's consciousness ends up surviving inside a machine, leading to difficult consequences for everyone involved. The PG-13 rating is due to sensuality, brief strong language, bloody images and sci-fi action and violence.

Movies to DVD

"Labor Day" arrives out on DVD on Tuesday, April 29. A reclusive single mother and her young son forge a tenuous life for themselves. During one hot summer, a man invites himself into their home while seeking refuge from the law. What begins as a dangerous situation slowly blossoms into an unexpected and passionate romance. Thematic material, brief violence and mature content contribute to a PG-13 rating.

"The Legend of Hercules" stars Kellan Lutz as the mythological hero. Growing up, Hercules does not fully realize how much power he possesses. A forbidden romance disrupts Hercules' life, resulting in a cruel exile. As he fights his way back to his rightful place, Hercules finally embraces his strength. The PG-13 rating is due to intense combat action and violence and some sensuality.

"Gimme Shelter" follows a teenager from a hardscrabble life. Desperate to escape her unsupportive mother, Apple sets out on a difficult quest to find her father and start a new life. Her pregnancy makes her journey more risky, but Apple is not willing to give up on her goal. "Gimme Shelter" has a PG-13 rating for mature thematic material that includes mistreatment, drug content, language and violence, all involving teens.

In "Devil's Due," an event that should be one of the happiest in a couple's life instead takes a dark turn. Following their honeymoon, newlyweds learn that they'll be welcoming a new baby. As the pregnancy progresses, strange omens and disturbing occurrences call the baby's origins into question. The R rating is due to language and bloody images.
