Marvel Studios has ''no plans'' for an 'X-Men' and 'Avengers Assemble' crossover movie.

Although President of Production Kevin Feige thinks the idea - championed by 'Wolverine' star Hugh Jackman, who wants to team up with Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man - would be ''fun'', it isn't on their radar for the immediate future.

Speaking during a Jameson's Done In 60 Seconds Google Hangout online Q&A for Empire magazine, Feige said: ''There's certainly no plans right now. Enough amazing things have happened in the 13 years that I've been at Marvel, I never say never to things like that. But I don't think it'll be any time soon.

'''The Avengers' have so many stories to tell. It's not like creatively we need or want to include the X-Men, but as a fan I think it would be fun. It's Phase 27!''

Following speculation Marvel Studios has been considering casting Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Paul Rudd as 'Ant-Man' for their next superhero movie, Feige was quizzed about the status of the long-awaited comic book adaptation, revealing that things are almost ''ready to go''.

The movie boss explained: ''The waters have been rising over eight years on 'Ant-Man'. It's been a while so it feels like we're ready to go.

''Phase 3 is in the very, very early days. 'Ant-Man' is the first official one. We're working on a handful of things. We only have two slots a year. And we've got four or five things that are in the works right now.''
