Danny Trejo stars as the title character, an ex-Federale who clashes with a Mexican drug lord (Steven Seagal) and flees to Texas to work as a day laborer. Then he's tasked with assassinating an anti-immigration US senator (Robert De Niro), but right before he takes his shot, realizes he's been set up. After going on the lam, Machete vows revenge against those responsible for betraying him. Also starring Cheech Marin, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, and Lindsay Lohan.

Lindsay Lohan is "awesome" in 'Machete'.
The troubled actress - who plays a gun-toting nun in the Robert Rodriguez-directed movie - was praised by cast and crew at the film's premiere in Los Angeles last night (25.08.10), despite her recent trip to jail and a subsequent rehab facility.
Speaking on the red carpet, Robert said: "She's awesome in the movie. That's what they'll see: the actress behind all that paparazzi nonsense that follows her and won't leave her alone. They'll get to see her and say, 'Oh, that's why we follow her around.' "
Jessica Alba also praised the 24-year-old star.
She said: "She's so good in this movie. I can't wait for people to see her in it."
Jessica was among a number of the film's stars to turn up to the World Premiere of the film - Michelle Rodriguez and Danny Trejo were also in attendance, as was iconic film director Quentin Tarantino and comedienne Sarah Silverman.
'Machete' is released in the US on September 3 and the rest of the world throughout October and November.
