Set in New York in the summer of 2001, Tyler (Robert Pattinson) and Ally (Emile de Ravin) are college-aged young adults. Despite being from different sides of the track, the two fall in love, bonding over their experiences of tragedy and heartache. Though the relationship seems to be healing them both, Tyler and Ally's families soon threaten their union. Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper star as the lovers' fathers in the movie.
