Quick Hits Movie Review- ‘The Hobbit’ -

The man in me likes sports, beer, and hot chicken wings, but the nerd in me absolutely loves ‘The Hobbit’. Peter Jackson’s prequel to ‘The Lord of the Rings’ is a wonderful tale that will once again take you on a wonderful trip through Middle Earth. He doesn’t follow the book as much as you would think, but he adds in a lot of other stories from LOTR.

The scenes with Gollum have to be my favorite, and are the most like the book. There were things I was expecting to see that never came but maybe will come out later in the trilogy. I am a little concerned how they are going to make two more films with this story, but if they are like this one; I will have no problem watching it.

Theater vs. Home Video: Theater for sure. But there are three ways to see this movie. You can see it in 2D, 3D, or HFR 3D. HFR 3D is the new High Film Rate format that is first of it’s kind. It is shot in 48fps which is twice as fast as the normal 24fps that we are used to. The movie can seem to be in fast motion at times but it is very, very, clear and seems so real. I suggest trying to see it in HFR because it may be where movies are going.
