Quick Hit Review: Lawless -- I haven’t screamed for blood at a good villain for a while, but Charlie Rakes (Guy Pearce) was so brilliant in this movie I couldn’t help myself. The Bondurant brothers Jack (Shia LaBeouf), Forrest (Tom Hardy), and Howard (Jason Clarke) are the southern moonshiners of prohibition that we all have heard about. It’s a based on a true story which is really cool, and written by a member of the Bondurant family. It has plenty of “tough guy” action that you would expect in a movie like this, and it doesn’t disappoint with 1930‘s Virginia authenticity. My only complaints would be the choice of music in the film, and the fact that Floyd Banner (Gary Oldman) didn’t have more scenes. I mean, why put Gary Oldman in a movie if he isn’t going to do much? Oh well, it’s still a great flick.
Theater vs. Digital Release- This movie was just digitally released on November 27th, but was theater worthy.
