Quick Hits Movie Review: "Afternoon Delight"

Kathryn Hahn is one of the funniest women in Hollywood and her character roles in films like “Step Brothers”, “Our Idiot Brother”, and “We're the Millers” only proves how funny she can be. On August 30 the world will be able to see her in a little bit more of serious role in her new film “Afternoon Delight”. There is still plenty of comedy to be found in the film especially with co-star Josh Radnor (How I Met You’re Mother) and the wildly hilarious Jane Lynch (Glee).

I would describe this film as “A soccer mom gets bored, goes a little nutty, becomes infatuated with a stripper/prostitute and then lets her move in.” That is pretty much the gist of it and you can only imagine what kind of problems ensue. This film is promiscuous, to say the least, and you will find yourself very taken in by Hahn’s character Rachel. Juno Temple plays the stripper named McKenna and she is every bit the person you would imagine her to be. After Rachel first meets Mckenna at a strip club, she becomes completely obsessed with the idea of being with this woman. You can see the desperation in her eyes and the excitement inside her as she finally becomes aroused after a long dry spell with her husband. Rachel puts her reputation and marriage on the line to help her and even my experiment a little!

This is a fantastic film and I hope that everyone can see it and enjoy Kathryn’s great acting ability. The film has a limited release of August 30.
