Quick Hits Movie Review: "Blood"

Director Nick Murphy‭ (‬‘The Awakening‭’‬) has released his new film‭ ‬“Blood‭”‬ with an all-star cast including:‭ ‬Mark Strong‭ (‬‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy‭’‬),‭ ‬Paul Bettany‭ (‬‘A Beautiful Mind‭’‬),‭ ‬Brian Cox‭ (‬‘The Bourne Identity‭’‬) and Stephen Graham‭ (‬‘Gangs of New York‭’‬).‭ ‬In‭ ‬the film brothers Joe‭ (‬Bettany‭)‬ and Chrissie‭ (‬Graham‭) ‬are two police officers in charge of finding the killer of‭ ‬a‭ ‬young woman involved in an extremely violent crime.‭ ‬Joe becomes obsessed with catching,‭ ‬who he believes,‭ ‬killed the young woman and goes to any length in order to prevent him from killing again.‭

“Blood‭”‬ is a very dark film and dives into the deepest part of the soul.‭ ‬As you sympathize with Joe and learn about his past,‭ ‬you‭ ‬find yourself thanking God you are not in the position he is in.‭  ‬His guilt becomes his enemy and plays perfectly with Mark Strong‭’‬s calming character Det.‭ ‬Robert Seymour.‭ ‬I was a little disappointed by the lack of Brian Cox in the film because he is a brilliant actor,‭ ‬but either way the film worked.

This film will keep you entertained and horrified throughout.‭ ‬If you like crime/drama films than this is a film for you.‭ ‬It‭’‬s a‭ ‬true test of family loyalty and emotional insanity.‭

* “Blood” is out August 9th in select markets and is available on VOD
