Quick Hits Movie Review: "Blood"

Director Nick Murphy (‘The Awakening’) has released his new film “Blood” with an all-star cast including: Mark Strong (‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’), Paul Bettany (‘A Beautiful Mind’), Brian Cox (‘The Bourne Identity’) and Stephen Graham (‘Gangs of New York’). In the film brothers Joe (Bettany) and Chrissie (Graham) are two police officers in charge of finding the killer of a young woman involved in an extremely violent crime. Joe becomes obsessed with catching, who he believes, killed the young woman and goes to any length in order to prevent him from killing again.
“Blood” is a very dark film and dives into the deepest part of the soul. As you sympathize with Joe and learn about his past, you find yourself thanking God you are not in the position he is in. His guilt becomes his enemy and plays perfectly with Mark Strong’s calming character Det. Robert Seymour. I was a little disappointed by the lack of Brian Cox in the film because he is a brilliant actor, but either way the film worked.
This film will keep you entertained and horrified throughout. If you like crime/drama films than this is a film for you. It’s a true test of family loyalty and emotional insanity.
* “Blood” is out August 9th in select markets and is available on VOD
