Rose Byrne cast in The Place Beyond The Pines
Rose Byrne is to star in 'The Place Beyond The Pines'.
The actress has been cast as the wife of Bradley Cooper's cop-turned-politician character in the movie which will be directed by Derek Cianfrance.
The female role was originally going to be played by Greta Gerwig but she had to pull out due to other commitments, including a part in Woody Allen's 'The Bop Decameron'.
Rose, 32, joins an impressive cast which also includes Ryan Gosling, Ray Liotta and Eva Mendes.
The movie centres on a plot involving Bradley's character and Ryan's bank robber alter-ego, although other details are currently scarce, and it is presently shooting in Schenectady, New York.
Rose - who can currently be seen in hit comedy 'Bridesmaids' - should be delighted she has landed the role as she recently admitted she couldn't get out of bed for three days when she was rejected by director Lars von Trier for a part in 2005 film 'Manderlay'.
She said: "I auditioned for 'Manderlay'. It was a three-hour workshop. A proper shot at it, and an unforgettable experience. But he gave it to Bryce Dallas Howard instead.
"When I found out, I got really blue, got into bed for three days, ate bad food and watched TV - all the usual cliches.
