Russell Brand in talks for Pierre Pierre
Russell Brand is in talks to star in raunchy comedy 'Pierre Pierre'.
The British comedian is currently in negotiations for the lead role in Larry Charles' upcoming film about an obnoxious French nihilist who embarks upon an obstacle-filled journey from Paris to London when he transports a stolen painting.
'Pierre Pierre' will see Russell - whose divorce from Katy Perry was finalized earlier this month - stumble upon a serial killer named Pigeonshit, a French policeman and his own brothel-owning mother in the politically incorrect road movie.
Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch will produce under Escape Artists along with Brian Sher from Category 5.
Jim Carrey and Jason Reitman were originally attached to the project and the initial script was penned by Edwin Cannistraci and Frederick Seton.
Russell seems the ideal choice for director Larry Charles, who is best known for his outrageous Sacha Baron Cohen-fronted flicks 'Borat' and 'The Dictator'.
The outspoken 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' star has taken his stand-up career across the Atlantic with his new American FX series 'Brand X with Russell Brand', and was most recently seen in 'Rock Of Ages' alongside Tom Cruise.
Russell recently finished filming Diablo Cody's untitled directorial debut and has reprised his role voicing mad scientist Dr. Nefario in 'Despicable Me 2'.
