Ryan Gosling to re-team with Refn

June 24th, 2011

Ryan Gosling has signed up for the lead role in 'Only God Forgives'.

The 30-year-old actor is to re-team with 'Drive' director Nicolas Wilding Refn for the movie, a revenge story featuring a Thai police officer and British gangster hiding out in Thailand against a backdrop of gambling, prostitution and boxing.

Kristen Scott Thomas will also feature in the film, which originally had Luke Evans line dup for the lead role.

However, Luke was forced to abandon negotiations because the project was not compatible with his filming schedule for 'The Hobbit', in which he is to play Bard the Bowman.

'Only God Forgives' will start filming in November, with a release date slated for late 2012.

Ryan and Nicolas are also scheduled to work together on 'Logan's Run', though it is still unclear when the project will begin as the actor is also attached to star in two other movies, 'Gangster Squad' and 'The Place Beyond The Pines'.

The 'Blue Valentine' actor was also recently linked to a role in 'The Lone Ranger', though his involvement has not yet been confirmed.
