Ryan Reynolds 'snubbed' acting
Ryan Reynolds "snubbed" acting as a career when he was younger.
The 34-year-old hunk - who will soon hit cinemas in comic book movie 'Green Lantern' - didn't get serious about a job in Hollywood until he had made it and never pursued work there.
He said: "My way in to acting was kind of unusual in that I didn't dive into it in a serious way until I'd already 'made it' as it were, until I was already working in TV and movies.
"I snubbed my nose at it a little bit when I was younger."
The Canadian star only "fell in love" with the profession when he did a number of big films including 'Adventureland' and 'The Proposal' with Sandra Bullock.
He added to Metro newspaper: "I thought that it'd be interesting to have more than a couple of cards in my deck - to do dramatic work, independent films, larger scale movies. Only then did I fall in love with it."
Ryan recently confessed he was not prepared to watch 'Green Lantern' until it was completely edited because he didn't want to see it without the special effects.
He said: "I've only seen chunks and sections, because I don't like seeing the stuff that's not polished. It's harder for me to step away from it and watch that. "
