Bill Nighy has joined the cast for the 'Clash of the Titans' sequel.

The 'Love Actually' actor has signed up to play fallen god Hephaestus in the as-yet-untitled movie, which sees Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Danny Huston reprising their respective roles while Rosamund Pike, Toby Kebbell and Edgar Ramirez will be the newcomers.

The movie fast forwards 10 years from the original, which sees Perseus (Worthington) trying to put his heroic escapades behind him and live a quiet life as a fisherman as well as being a single father to son Hellus.

However, his plan fails as the universe conspires to get him out of retirement and fight for what he believes in.

There is a struggle for supremacy between the Gods and the Titans as the weakened Gods face a new challenge from the leader of the imprisoned Titans, Kronos, father to Neeson's Zeus, Fiennes' Hades and Huston's Poseidon.

Hades and Zeus' son Ares (Ramirez) decide to switch sides and make a deal with Kronos to imprison Zeus so Perseus enlist the help of Andromeda (Pike), Hephaestus and Poseidon's son Argenor (Kebbell) to journey into the underworld and rescue him.

The film - which will be directed by Jonathan Liebsman - will be shot in the UK and Canary Island Tenerife.
