Available in a Blu-ray/DVD 2-Disc Combo Pack from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment on November 24th, Santa Buddies is a dog-friendly Christmas movie for families and younger audiences.
Santa Buddies is perfect for younger kids who love dogs. It tells the story of The Legend of Santa Paws. The lovable “Buddies,” B-Dawg, Budderball, Buddha, Mudbud, and Rosebud embark on a thrilling journey to the magical world of Santa’s Workshop.
No effective Christmas story is complete without some tribulation and when the world begins to forget the true meaning of the holidays, it’s up to Puppy Paws, the fun-loving son of Santa Paws, and his newfound Buddies to save the day in another epic adventure.
Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future) does a nice job as the antagonist (grinch-like character) in the movie. If you have a sensitive child, he or she might struggle with parts of the movie where the dogs are capture. However, just remind them that things ‘usually’ work out in the end.
Parents be aware that this film offers a subtle sell at the end as pups are ultimately delivered to boys and girls by Santa. Realize that if you are trying to avoid bringing a dog into your home, this film could present a challenge. What if your boy or girl puts a pup on their wish list for Santa? Overall, Santa Buddies, is a pleasant and visually appealing Blu-ray movie.
