Nicolas Cage stars in this fantasy-adventure film inspired by the Sorcerer's Apprentice segment of Disney's Fantasia (1940). Set in modern-day Manhattan, Master sorcerer Balthazar Blake (Cage) has located the person who will inherit Merlin's powers. His name is Dave (Jay Baruchel) and he's a college student. Together the two work to stop Maxim Horvath and his evil sorceress from destroying the world.
