Decades later and hundreds of miles away from the original massacre, a young woman named Heather (Alexandra Daddario) learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from a long lost grandmother. She heads out on a road trip to collect the inheritance, unaware that it includes her cousin, Leatherface (Dan Yeager), as well.

Box Office Preview! What's New This Weekend?

During the first weekend of 2013, "Texas Chainsaw 3D" opens in theaters nationwide. John Luessenhop's gory horror film picks up where the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (1974) left off, exploring the dark legacy of the Sawyer family. Young Heather Miller leads a contented life with her adoptive family, but an unexpected inheritance stirs up troubling questions about her past. When Heather sets out to collect her inheritance, she suspects that she will meet some of her long-lost relatives. However, she cannot predict just how much the encounter will change her life. The R rating is due to language and grisly violence.

Damian Lee directs "A Dark Truth," due out in theaters this weekend. Following his career as a CIA operative, Jack takes on a slower-paced career as a political talk show host. When a woman approaches Jack and asks him to use his platform to expose a horrifying corporate cover-up, however, Jack must make tough decisions. It soon becomes clear that his new career path is just as dangerous and uncertain as his last one. The movie has an R rating for disturbing images and violence.

"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" stars Martin Freeman in the iconic role of Bilbo Baggins. When a wizard and a group of dwarves ask the hobbit to accompany them on a dangerous trek through Middle Earth, Bilbo reluctantly agrees. He will have to keep all his wits about him if he wants to survive encounters with giants, orcs, and worse. Peter Jackson directs the fantasy epic, which has a PG-13 rating for frightening images and extended sequences of action and violence.

In "Django Unchained," Django ends up separated from his wife at a slave auction. Django vows to free his wife, especially when he learns that she is now at the mercy of a cruel plantation owner. With the help of an eccentric bounty hunter, Django hopes to make good on his promise and exact revenge. Quentin Tarantino's edgy Western has an R rating for nudity, language, a vicious fight, and persistent graphic violence.

Tom Hooper directs "Les Misérables," a sweeping musical based on the novel by Victor Hugo. Hugh Jackman stars as the noble but unlucky Jean Valjean, an ex-convict trying to redeem himself in the eyes of society. Russell Crowe takes on the role of Javert, the merciless policeman whose quest for justice soon turns into a personal grudge. The drama is set against the dramatic backdrop of France's June Rebellion. The PG-13 rating is due to suggestive and mature material, thematic elements, and violence.

"Parental Guidance" is a comedy about the generation gap, directed by Andy Fickman. Artie has some strong ideas about how to raise kids, but his grown daughter has ideas of her own. When Artie agrees to babysit his grandkids, he discovers just how different her parenting style really is. Both Artie and his grandkids have a lot to learn. The film's PG rating is due to rude humor.

"Jack Reacher" is a crime drama from director Christopher McQuarrie. When ex-military man James Barr goes on trial for the murder of five civilians, the outlook seems grim. Desperate to clear his good name, Barr asks for Jack Reacher, the only man who can help him. However, Reacher may have other plans. The film has a PG-13 rating for drug material, violence, and language.

"This is 40" takes a humorous and irreverent look at what happens to romance during middle age. On her fortieth birthday, Debbie begins to reevaluate her marriage, worrying that her husband is no longer attracted to her. Her husband has similar worries, leading the two to undertake some soul-searching and make a few unexpected changes. Judd Apatow's latest comedy has an R rating for mature content, crude humor, drug material, and pervasive language.

Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" follows the beloved United States President as he attempts to enact controversial changes. During the last days of the Civil War, peace is on the horizon, but inequality still exists in the country. Abraham Lincoln hopes to make America a more welcoming and just place, but he has an uphill battle ahead of him. The conflicts that rage between the Democrats and Republicans could decide the fate of the whole country. The film's PG-13 rating is due to intense war violence, carnage, and language.

"The Guilt Trip" stars Seth Rogen as Andy, an ambitious inventor who is finally ready to launch a successful future. When he realizes that his mother is not truly happy or content in her current life, Andy lets his guilt get the better of him. The result is a cross-country road trip that will offer far more mother-son bonding time than Andy anticipated. "The Guilt Trip" has a PG-13 rating for language and risqué material.
