Famous Big-Screen Siblings

It isn't a secret when true talent runs freely within a family, because Hollywood is filled with famous siblings. For those looking to see their names in lights, it can be extremely tough to break into the movies, as is for aspiring actors to get a chance to show their acting skills. Most popular siblings had an inside track towards success by simply being related to one another.

The Hemsworth brothers are three popular actors who are well known for their good looks and bright blue eyes. The youngest of the three, Chris and Liam Hemsworth, have an older brother named Luke, who began his acting career on the 2001 television soap opera "Neighbors." He is the least known of the three brothers, but he actually began his acting career first. His other appearances were in the television shows "The Saddle Club," "Blue Heelers," and "Last Man Standing." Chris Hemsworth, the middle brother, at age thirty, has starred in popular films including "Thor," "The Avengers," "Snow White and the Huntsman," and the popular remake of "Red Dawn." Liam is the youngest brother of Luke and Chris. Born on Jan. 13, 1990, Liam took on the role of Marcus in the television series "Neighbors" alongside his brother Luke. He is also known for his roles in "The Last Song," "The Hunger Games," and "Empire State." All three brothers were born in Melbourne, Australia, where they were raised in a small aboriginal community in the Outback.

Fans of the popular 1980s television show "Full House" will remember the cute blonde girl named Michelle Tanner, who was played by twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The girls were just a year old at the time, and they went on to have their own line of books, dolls, and merchandise, as well as a string of movies including "It Takes Two" and "Our Lips Are Sealed." The two have an older sister named Elizabeth, who has starred in 2011's "Silent House" and 2013's "Kill Your Darlings."

Not many people realize that innovative actor James Franco has a younger brother named Dave, who is also an actor. Born in 1978 in Palo Alto, California, James Franco received his first role in the short-lived television series "Freaks and Geeks." He won a Golden Globe for playing Harry Osborne in the "Spiderman" trilogy, and he is also well known for the "Pineapple Express," "127 Hours," and "Rise of the Planet of the Apes." Dave made his first appearance in "7th Heaven," and some of his other films include "Superbad," "Now You See Me," and "Warm Bodies." The two have a middle brother name Tom, who is an artist and has had his work featured in various art studios across California.

Dakota Fanning was born in Conyers, Georgia, in 1994. She showed a love for dramatic acting at a very young age while performing for her family and anyone else who would watch. Recently, she has starred as Jane in the well-known movie series "Twilight." Other films to her credit include "War of the Worlds," "Man on Fire," and "Coraline." Elle Fanning is Dakota's younger sister. She made her debut playing Dakota's younger sister in the blockbuster 2001 hit "I Am Sam." She also played a younger Dakota in the 2002 film "Taken."

The Baldwin brothers are well known in Hollywood for their good looks as well as for their acting abilities. Alex, Daniel, Stephen, and William are features in a documentary called "The Baldwin Brothers." Daniel, Billy and Stephen appeared in the Oliver Stone film "Born on the Fourth of July," and they each have their own long lists of films they have appeared in. Alec Baldwin first received recognition in the television drama "Knots Landing." He has also played supporting roles in "Beetlejuice," "The Hunt for Red October," and "The Marrying Man." Daniel is best known for playing Detective Beau Felton in the popular series "Homicide: Life on the Streets," and he also appeared in "Ned Blessing: the True Story of My Life,""Mulholland Falls," and "Vampires." Billy Baldwin is not only an actor but also a popular producer and writer. His movie credits include "Flatliners," "Backdraft," and "Parenthood." Recently, he was cast in the BBC show "Copper," which was canceled after two seasons. The youngest of the Baldwin brothers is Stephen. He is an actor, director, producer, and author, and he is known for his roles in "Crossing the Bridge," "The Usual Suspect," and "The Flyboys."

Hollywood has seen a host of other famous siblings, including the Wayans family, Mark and Donnie Wahlberg, and the Phoenix children. This only serves to prove that either talent can be genetic or siblings have a greater chance of being noticed if they already have connections.
