A Box Office Preview for the weekend of Friday, April 6th

This upcoming weekend has several exciting new releases, as well as a few long-anticipated blasts from the past. On Wednesday, April 4th, James Cameron's epic romance film returned to the theaters for the first time since the 1990s. 'Titanic' has been remastered in 3D, letting moviegoers enjoy a nostalgic trip back in time and also experience the movie in a whole new way. Starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, the story takes place aboard the RMS Titanic in 1912. While the ship unknowingly heads for disaster, a romance blossoms between two young people from different worlds. 'Titanic 3D' has a PG-13 rating.

Fans of the quintessential teen comedy 'American Pie' (1999) are also in for a nostalgic treat this weekend, with 'American Reunion' opening on April 6th. Directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, the comedy takes place at the East Great Falls high school reunion. The teenagers who were coming of age a decade ago are now young adults, but they are still trying to figure out life, love and everything else. The film reunites the original cast of 'American Pie.' The raunchy comedy has an R rating.

In a different vein, 'The Hunter' is a suspenseful drama directed by Daniel Nettheim. Willem Dafoe stars in this dark and provocative tale of a mercenary who travels to the wilds of Tasmania to track down his illegal prey. He hopes to bring back a rare breed of tiger, but finds his mission complicated by unexpected dangers. 'The Hunter' has a limited release and an R rating.

'ATM' is a nail-biting horror film directed by David Brooks. Two young lovers drop by an ATM on a frosty winter evening and soon find their world turned upside down by a sadistic stranger. The horror movie has an R rating and is shown in select theaters starting on Friday, April 6th.

Director Julien Leclercq helms a thriller about a 1994 terrorist attack that takes place in midair. Four terrorists hijack an Air France plane, planning to crash into the iconic Eiffel Tower. The passengers find an innocent flight turned into a terrifying game of cat and mouse. 'The Assault' is released in U.S. theaters on April 6th, and has an R rating.

Continuing Movies
'The Hunger Games' continues to draw crowds to the theaters. Directed by Gary Ross and based on the YA series by writer Suzanne Collins, the science-fiction action flick features plenty of intrigue, drama and danger. Set in a bleak future where young people are chosen by lottery to fight to the death, Katniss Everdeen becomes an unexpected hero. The film has a PG-13 rating.

Family-friendly 'Mirror, Mirror' is a fresh, funny retelling of the Snow White story. The fantasy is directed by Tarsem Singh and stars Julia Roberts as a conniving enchantress. Young, smart and pretty, Snow White must outwit the enchantress with the help of a dreamy prince and seven diminutive but cunning robbers. The film is rated PG.

For fans of epic action flicks, 'Wrath of the Titans' is a 3D experience with plenty of larger-than-life action sequences. Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, the star-studded sequel to 'Clash of the Titans' (2010) focuses on Zeus, Perseus, Hades, Poseidon and a host of other gods as they struggle to control the vengeful Titans. The fast-paced adventure fantasy has a P3-13 rating.

Moviegoers who are in the mood for some lighthearted comedy will enjoy '21 Jump Street,' the action comedy based loosely on the popular 1980s TV series. The film stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as two young police officers who have to pose as high schoolers to bring down a dangerous drug ring. The comedy is directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and has an R rating.
