Steven Spielberg's War Horse travel

January 24th, 2012

Steven Spielberg made 'War Horse' so that he could travel to new places.

The 65-year-old film-maker said that part of the attraction in making the movie starring Jeremy Irvine and Tom Hiddleston was the chance to try out new locations he had not been to before.

He said: ''It's a great perk of the job, being able to travel, and spend some time in new places. And, when I'm really lucky, I get to make a film about these new places too.''

Steven went on to call it a great experience, saying: '' Not just as a filmmaker but just as someone who loves to see the world, to taste other cultures, other ways of life.''

'War Horse' has so far gained mixed reviews from critics, and was nominated for only two Golden Globe awards.

However, Steven Spielberg hasn't taken the bad news to heart, telling Movies.ie ''Just like anyone else though, there's a little rain every now and then, a day that doesn't quite make you jump for joy. You need those days too though, to help you appreciate all the good ones. Most days it's an absolute blast being Steven Spielberg.''
