Tugger is a Jeep 4X4 who has a special dream. He wants to fly. This February 10th, you can see Tugger pursue his dream in the the DVD release of Tugger: The Jeep 4X4 Who Wanted to Fly from Anchor Bay Entertainment.
Tugger stars the voices of Jim Belushi and Carrot Top. It tells the inspiring tale of a Jeep who is injured while serving his country during World War II. Tugger has his engine fan replaced by a real airplance propeller. Sold as war surplus, he spends his time towing airplanes at the local airfield.
Still, Tugger has his dreams and believes his true destiny is to one day fly like a real airplane. Directed by Jeffrey J. Varab and Woody Woodman, the Tugger movie is based on the original short story “The Little Tractor That Wanted to Fly” by George Parson. The film is actually part of a broad licensing and merchandising property that includes books from DKBooks, t-shirts and hats from Cross Road Designs, and fabrics and craft kits from Westminster Fabrics.
The Tugger movie is definitely an inspiring story. The film is the right length at just over an hour. Unfortunately, the story and animation are a bit hard to follow for the movie’s main audience – kids. The characters are fine and Tugger himself is definitely likeable. But, it is a bit of challenge for young minds to follow the development of Tugger’s story in order to understand why it is inspiring.
DVD Bonus Feature include:
- Jim Belushi LIVE IN CONCERT
- “The Making of ‘Tugger’”
- ‘No Sky’ music video
- Spanish language track
