Vanessa Hudgens to star in Frozen Ground
Vanessa Hudgens has signed up for serial killer movie 'Frozen Ground'.
The 'High School Musical' actress will star alongside John Cusack and Nicolas Cage in the big screen adaptation of the true story of Alaska's most notorious serial killer Robert Hansen (Cusack), detailing his kidnapping of teenage girls and habit of bringing them to Alaska to hunt and kill, according to Deadline.
Vanessa will play one teenage victim who managed to escape while Nicolas is set to portray the Alaskan State Trooper who believed her story when no one else did and who helps her hunt down the vicious killer.
The film will be the feature directorial debut of Scott Walker, who also wrote the script, and will be produced by Randall Emmett and George Furla, along with Amber Entertainment's Jane Fleming and Mark Ordesky.
Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson is among the executive producers of the movie which will begin shooting in Anchorage, Alaska on October 17.
Vanessa has previously revealed her hopes of putting her 'High School Musical' past behind her with more adult roles.
Speaking about her role as Blondie in asylum-set fantasy action film 'Sucker Punch', she said: "I auditioned for the role several times. It was a bit of a challenge for a second because people could only see me as the girl that randomly broke into song and dance. But I heard about this movie and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I think as long as I put the work in, people will give me the chance."
