Diane Kruger says Basterds gave her variety
Diane Kruger thinks she is offered more complex acting roles since appearing in 'Inglourious Basterds'.
The German-born beauty played an actress-turned-saboteur in the movie and she believes it has made casting directors see her in a different light, admitting she thinks she would have been more likely to be asked to audition for January Jones' glamorous role in 'Unknown', rather than the part of Gina which she eventually landed.
She said: "'Inglourious Basterds' helped make a change in the sense of what kind of part I could be offered or at least be considered for.
"I really think if I hadn't done 'Inglourious Basterds' I might have been considered for the part January plays.
"It's a good part, but it's certainly something I've done before. Mine is a much more complex part, in terms of the layers."
Diane stars alongside Liam Neeson in 'Unknown' and she was "impressed" by his way of working, and the fact he understood instinctively how she wanted to prepare for her part.
She told Stylist magazine: "What I liked about him is he was very gracious in the sense of understanding what I was trying to do.
"Plus I was doing a Bosnian accent and that always takes a lot of time. He really gave me the space and time I needed to get it right. And that was really sweet of him because this is his movie really. I really appreciated that.
"And I was impressed by how much he kicks a*s. It's cool."
