Wes Anderson is the son of an advertising/PR executive and a real estate agent. Wes attended the University of Texas in Austin, majoring in Philosophy, where he met Owen Wilson. Wes and Owen created a short film called Bottle Rocket starring Owen and his brother Luke, which was shown at the Sundance Film Festival and garnered funding for a full-length version. He has created successful films including The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Moonrise Kingdom.
