William H. Macy joins "Blood Father"
William H. Macy has joined 'Blood Father'.
The 64-year-old actor, who is known for his role in the US series 'Shameless', has taken to his Twitter account to announce that he will be starring opposite Mel Gibson, 58, in the upcoming thriller.
Macy shared a photograph of him and Gibson on set, which he accompanied with the caption: ''Here's me and Mel. The film is called BLOOD FATHER. He's great in our scenes. (sic).''
The movie will follow an ex-convict who reunites with his estranged 16-year-old daughter and tries to protect her from a gang of drug dealers, who set out to kill her.
Gibson will play the leading role in the film, which is being directed by French filmmaker Jean-Francois Richet, but it is not yet known who Macy has signed on to portray.
American Hustle's Elisabeth Röhm has also joined the cast and will play Gibson's on-screen daughter Ursula, while US beauty Erin Moriarty has also been confirmed to join the film.
'Blood Father' is set for release sometime next year in the US, but an official date is yet to be announced.
