Lenny Kravtiz wanted movie ensemble
Lenny Kravitz signed up to 'The Hunger Games' because he likes ''being part of an ensemble''.
The singer-and-actor plays the role of stylist Cinna in the big-screen adaptation of the Suzanne Collins novel series - directed by Gary Ross - and he admits he wanted to appear in it because although he loves being a solo performer, he occasionally relishes group work.
He said: ''In the recordings it's me. I do what I want. When I'm on stage I can stop and say what I want. It's kind of like stand-up comedy; one guy and a mic. But I like being in an orchestra. I like being part of an ensemble. That was always my desire but I ended up being a solo artist.''
Now, the 47-year-old rocker - who has actress daughter Zoe Kravitz - admits he is feeling like he has had a rebirth and is keen to keep learning.
He told the Scotsman newspaper: ''Now I'm hungry. I feel like I'm just getting started, that the first 22 years was a great education and the next 22 years is going to be like, 'OK not it's time to develop in whatever I do.' ''
