Zoe Saldana to star in Out of the Furnace
Zoe Saldana is set to star in 'Out of the Furnace'.
The 'Avatar' actress is in talks to appear alongside Christian Bale in the drama, which is being directed by 'Crazy Heart' helmer Scott Cooper.
The dark film is set in 1986 Indiana and tells the story of Slim (Bale), a newly free man who wants to fulfil his promise to his long-suffering girlfriend by marrying her.
However, when he discovers his brother has been murdered after getting involved in a gambling racket, his goals change and he avenges the murder.
Saldana is set to play Slim's ex-wife, who now works as a waitress and is married in the town's sheriff.
Robert Duvall is expected to play Slim's uncle, and Viggo Mortensen is circling the villain role, while Casey Affleck is the frontrunner to portray the brother.
Ridley Scott and brother Tony team up with Leonardo DiCaprio and Brooklyn Weaver to produce the film.
Saldana is currently busy working on J.J. Abrams' untitled 'Star Trek' sequel, reprising her role as Nyota Uhura.
